Annbjørg Lien

Annbjørg Lien & Bjørn Ole Rasch

Come Home

This is a record that Annbjørg and Bjørn Ole have been thinking about for many years. It is a personal album with a revealing, intimate nature: fiddles, keyed fiddle, vocals and harmonium. It was recorded in their own studio, Kongshavn Studio, outside of Kristiansand.

Most of the songs on the record were composed by the duo themselves, but some traditional tunes are also included that hold special meaning for them. They create a vibrant, innovative idiom using only a few instruments, and move within a broadly expansive musical room.
Much of the inspiration for their music came from pictures by some of Norway’s foremost visual artists: Elisabeth Werp, Per Fronth, Kjell Nupen and Bjørg Thorhallsdottir. These pictures are included in the cover, making this production even more special.

This is a unique production by the duo Lien/Rasch that is definitely worth listening to!

“And what we hear is pure euphony. Lien is a master on the Hardanger fiddle, the fiddle and the keyed fiddle. The synths are given a time-out, and Rasch works intensively with a harmonium that threatens to leap out of the studio at any moment…”
– Øyvind Rønning, Dagbladet (Norway)
